The 2008 Ferrari F430 Berlinetta

The Ferrari F430 represents an era of rapid growth for the Ferrari, represented in the significant changes made to the F430 compared to its predecessor, the 360. The motor was an all-new V8 implementing technology pulled directly from their successful Formula 1 racing motors of the era. As a result, the naturally aspirated 4.3 liter V8 produces 483 hp at 8500 rpms, a substantial 88hp increase over the outgoing model. While the design is a subtle difference from the 360 it replaced, it was carefully designed to provide more downforce and aid mechanical grip at speed. This great example has just under 6700 miles from new, and was purchased from the first owner by this seller. This is the last generation of Ferrari V8 available with the classic gated six speed manual. It comes with all service records, both sets of original keys, a full tool kit, and all books. 

This two-owner, 2008 Ferrari F430 Berlinetta is a heavily optioned example, finished in Rosso over tan with Daytona seat inserts, polished rims, leather rear shelf and fitted with a six speed manual transmission. This F430 remained with its first owner until January of 2020, continuing its life of well-maintained, private collection ownership.

At the time of purchase in 2020, the inspection report revealed sticky interior switchgear, and cracked exhaust manifolds, which was a common issue for this model. Both manifolds were replaced, the sticky switchgear addressed, and all fluids and filters were changed at that time. A second set of original factory wheels with new tires are installed, but also comes with the original set of wheels and tires upon sale of the vehicle.

Presenting today in beautifully maintained, low mileage condition, this F430 is the product of impeccable care and safekeeping of two private collections. Besides being a properly cared for example with no stories, it represents the tipping point of being both a newer faster Ferrari using advanced tech, while holding on to the old world, old school charm with its three-pedal spec. This F430 is an exceptional addition to any collection and will continue to provide years of exhilarating driving ahead. 

Exterior 

The F430 body is a Pininfarina design, in conjunction with Frank Stephenson, who was the director of Concept Design and Development for both Ferrari and Maserati at the time. The F430 is essentially an update of the previous generation 360, sharing the roofline and doors with that model, but sculpted to enhance downforce. Aerodynamically, the idea was to generate more grip at high speeds, enhancing stability and increasing speeds in racing - or any spirited driving conditions. This particular example has paint in excellent condition, and is completely original.

Interior 

The interior is tan leather, with some black and chrome trim. The optional Daytona insert stripes give the interior a little more flair. The F430 was the first V8 Ferrari to begin using the manettino switch on the steering wheel, along with a bright red start/stop button, evoking the setup used on the Formula 1 race cars. The centerpiece of the interior, however, is the polished gate and shifter for the manual transmission, with both a look and feel that is unique to Ferrari.

Drive Train 

The F430 name stands for the engine’s displacement, a 4.3-liter producing 483 hp at 8,500 rpm, and 343 lb-ft of torque at 5,250rpm This was an all-new motor for Ferrari, and received rave reviews for its power and delivery. The six speed manual transmission was a carryover and is a proven robust design. 

This example is equipped with the optional carbon ceramic brakes, another first for the V8 Ferrari line, and are in excellent shape.
